Short abstract: A low-cost single component lidar velocimetry technique was designed and tested using a 200-mW continuous wave (CW) laser at the Laser Optical Communication Institute (LOCI), University of Dayton to be used in the wind tunnels for non-intrusive velocity measurement. A numerical framework for a scaled down Lidar system was developed to predict the required laser power and detector sensitivity for multiple velocities and shorter target distances.
